About

Hi there, I’m Olivia (they/she)!

I’m a queer, trauma therapist based in Brooklyn, NY currently offering virtual therapy to individuals (teens and adults) and couples/people in relationships.

My approach to therapy is based in the belief that therapy is a collaborative process, which begins with building a genuine relationship grounded in care and trust. Further, my lived experiences influence my therapeutic values, which take the form of neurodivergent-affirming and trans- and queer-affirming therapy. Through a practice centering curiosity, self-compassion, and pleasure, we’ll work together as you navigate your processing, healing, and growth.

Relational Cultural theory acts as the foundation of my practice, which emphasizes the importance of connection, authenticity, and reciprocity within and across relationships and historical/cultural contexts. Complementary to this framework, I also utilize AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), which is a trauma-informed, relational and somatic theory grounded in the belief that as humans we are wired toward connection and have an innate capacity for growth and change. I often draw from emotion-focused and existential theories as well.

Drawing from multiple modalities and theoretical orientations, my work with each client tends to look a little different, depending on their needs/preferences/goals - I really value feedback and find it important to check in often as we are co-creating a space that feels supportive for you. I welcome all parts of you that show up in our sessions, and am committed to supporting you in finding authenticity and creating mutual and reciprocal relationships through inner exploration. Our space will be warm and engaging as we hold your stories with care.

I have extensive experience working with LGBTQIA2S+ and neurodivergent (Autism/ADHD/OCD) individuals/couples, and specialize in supporting individuals who are navigating histories of complex trauma and living with grief and loss. I am particularly passionate about working with queer and TGNC individuals in helping professions, as well as survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and sexual trauma.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my partner/friends/cat, listening to live music, reading and going to bookstores, watching WNBA games, and collecting oddities!

Values that guide my practice

  • Consent & Collaboration

Consent is always at the forefront as we’re exploring your stories and experiences. The therapeutic relationship we create is a collaborative one that should feel non-hierarchical and reciprocally genuine. I’ll honor your boundaries, and we’ll check in often.

  • Disability Justice

“Disability is a portal, a way of focusing our gaze and sharpening our lens on the intricacies of our humanity” - Alice Wong

Disability is understood as the relationship between sociocultural environments, and a person’s uniquely individual characteristics. Thus, Disability Justice is tied to intersectionality, resistance, and solidarity across systemically oppressed communities.

  • Abolition & Liberation

I recognize and criticize how systems of oppression are woven into the foundation of this field, and hold a deep commitment to creating anti-oppressive, non-carceral, and decolonized therapeutic spaces. We’ll challenge and question these systems, and lean toward community support and collective empowerment.

  • Emergent Strategies

“Transform yourself to transform the world.” - Grace Lee Boggs

Emergent Strategy (credited to adrienne maree brown) recognizes how we interact with the world around us has a mutual impact that creates lasting change. With each change, there is an opportunity for growth and intentionality. Change is core to our existence, and we have the ability to shape it.
